Purple has successfully established itself as one of Egypt’s premier night spots situated on the banks of the Nile you are greeted with stunning views and cool funky ambiance. By 11:00pm things start heating up usually culminating in a fantastic party atmosphere. Popular with Egypt’s younger fashionable crowd you are guaranteed to have a fantastic dance fueled night with some of Egypt’s top Dj’s spinning you into a frenzy.

Located on the Imperial boat in Zamalek, Purple lives up to its name. It is predominantly… purple. But we’re not talking Barney purple, we’re talking cool seductive tones that set a vibe of intrigue. Think boudoire meets James Bond meets Jay Z. If you squint hard enough you can almost see a bling-blingin’ P Diddy in the corner velvet booth poppin’ the Crystal with exotic leggy models. And on the adjacent couch is a cool and calculated worldly James Bond with his own set of leggy Russian double agents.

Tuesday night entertainment is mainly comprised of a mixture of acid jazz and lounge music for most of the night, with a surprise live performance. Much to our delight, our Tuesday night visit kept us on the dance floor all night groovin’ to some funky house beats alongside Nour, the saxophonist!

According to Purple manager Nayrouz Abouzid, “Tuesday is a great night for those who want to enjoy an early dinner (9pm) and a delicious martini. Also, its my favorite night because the crowd is very exclusive and come to relax at Purple after a long day of work”. As for the rest of the week, Purple has a rainbow of exciting events to offer.

Wednesday nights resident DJ Roro spins retro 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s music. On the weekend, from Thursday through to Saturday resident DJ Roro remixes commercial R’n’B, House and Hip Hop. And soon to come on the menu are Karaoke nights for members only, and monthly theme parties!
