Description
Upon arrival at Alexandria Port, your tour manager will meet you and escort you to Cairo in an air-conditioned vehicle for a approximately three-hour drive to the Giza Plateau. The tour starts with visits to the pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus, followed by viewing the Great Sphinx, a large limestone statue symbolizing ancient Egyptian power.
Next, you will explore the Valley Temple, a site important for the mummification of Pharaoh Khafre, learning about its significance in ancient funerary practices.
The tour ends at the Grand Egyptian Museum, where you can see artifacts including the complete Tutankhamun collection, the Hanging Obelisk, the colossal Ramses II statue, Ptolemaic statues, and royal regalia. After the museum visit, you will be transferred back to your cruise ship at Alexandria Port.
Note that the Grand Egyptian Museum will be closed from 15 October 2025 to 4 November 2025.
