Description

We will pick you up from your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh for your fascinating excursion to Cairo and the Pyramids of Giza. You will then travel to Cairo by air-conditioned bus. Upon your arrival in Cairo, you will be warmly welcomed by our tour guide. You will then be taken directly to the museum of your choice. Visit either the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the largest archaeological museum in the world with over 100,000 artifacts. Its most striking exhibit is the legendary golden mask of Tutankhamun, along with its dazzling collection of jewels and treasures that have captivated the world for centuries, or the Museum of Ancient Egypt on Tahrir Square. It is the oldest archaeological museum in the Middle East and houses the largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities in the world. Select your preferred museum during the booking process. Afterwards, you can relax and explore Cairo from the water on a Nile cruise (optional, at additional cost, after consultation with your tour guide). Then enjoy a delicious lunch at a nearby restaurant overlooking the pyramids. After lunch, the tour will continue to one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World: the Great Pyramids of Giza (Cheops, Khafra and Menkaure). Start at Panorama Point, the best vantage point for breathtaking views of the Giza Pyramids. From there, you can take fantastic photos. Visit the Pyramid of Cheops (the Great Pyramid of Giza), the only remaining Wonder of the Ancient World. Also visit the pyramids of Khafra and Menkaure, each with its own unique architectural features. Admire the Great Sphinx and be enchanted by its enigmatic expression. Since all buses have to wait for the convoy that goes from Cairo to Sharm El Sheikh at the end of the day, you will make one or two of the following stops: Visits with character to the Papyrus Museum and the essential oils factory. During these two visits, you will learn about the ancient Egyptian techniques for making papyrus and essential oils. These two fascinating visits will broaden your understanding of daily life in Ancient Egypt and also support the Egyptian farmers who work in these sectors and preserve these ancient crafts. (While you wait for the convoy to return) At the end of the day, you will be taken back to your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh.
