Description
Begin your day with a pickup from your Cairo or Giza accommodation and travel south with your Egyptologist guide. This adventure follows the story of pyramid building through three remarkable ancient sites.
At Saqqara, explore the Step Pyramid of Djoser and its monumental complex. Built during the 3rd Dynasty, it represents a major turning point in Egyptian architecture and is recognized as the oldest known ancient Egyptian stone structure.
Your Egyptologist guide brings the site to life through the story of Djoser, Imhotep, and the architectural breakthrough that transformed the traditional mastaba into the world's first pyramid.
Continue to Dahshur, where King Sneferu's Bent Pyramid reveals the challenges ancient builders faced. Its changing angle provides a fascinating glimpse into the development of pyramid construction.
Then visit the Red Pyramid, Sneferu's later monument and one of the earliest completed true pyramids. Inside, experience the distinctive passages and chambers while your guide explains how the lessons of earlier pyramids helped shape the monuments that followed.
After the pyramids, continue to Memphis, the ancient capital associated with the wider Memphis necropolis. Explore its surviving monumental remains and learn how the city connected the royal and religious world of ancient Egypt.
Take a break for a restaurant lunch before beginning the return journey to Cairo or Giza.
