This layover day tour in Cairo starts with a visit to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, home to one of the world's oldest and most important archaeological collections. The museum displays ancient Egyptian artifacts spanning thousands of years, including statues of kings and deities, coffins, mummies, and everyday items illustrating ancient Egyptian life.
Please note that the Tutankhamun collection is no longer exhibited here as most items have been moved to the Grand Egyptian Museum.
Next, the tour continues to the Citadel of Saladin, where you will visit the Mohamed Ali Mosque, also known as the Alabaster Mosque. Built by Mohamed Ali, the mosque shares its architectural style with Istanbul’s Blue Mosque, as both were designed by the same architect.
