Description

The tour begins at the Nilometer located at the southern tip of Roda Island. This ancient structure dates back to just after the Arab conquest of Egypt and was historically used to measure the Nile’s flood levels for agricultural tax purposes.

Next, visit the Manial Palace, built by Prince Mohamed Ali Pasha, King Farouk’s uncle. The palace's architecture blends European Art Nouveau and Rococo with Ottoman, Moorish, and Persian styles. The residence includes five distinct buildings surrounded by gardens with rare tropical plants collected by the prince.

Then continue to the City of the Dead, Cairo’s expansive cemetery with tombs dating back to 642 AD. This area also serves as a permanent home for many due to Egypt’s housing shortage, offering a unique insight into local life.

The tour ends with a Nile felucca ride. Board the traditional sailboat to enjoy lunch while floating on the river. After the cruise, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
