Description

This private tour begins with pickup from your Cairo hotel and a visit to Sakkara, known as the city of the dead. Here you will see the Step Pyramid of Djoser, built around 2630 BC during the 3rd Dynasty, recognized as the world’s oldest major stone structure.

Next, the tour continues to Dahshur, where King Senefru, founder of the 4th Dynasty, built the first true pyramids. At Dahshur, you will explore the Bent Pyramid, an early attempt at a smooth-sided pyramid, and the nearby Red Pyramid.

The day concludes at the Great Pyramids of Giza. You will visit the Pyramid of Cheops, the only surviving wonder of the ancient world, and the Pyramid of Chephren, which still retains some original limestone casing. The smallest pyramid belongs to King Mykerinus. From an elevated point on the Giza plateau, you can photograph all three pyramids together.

Walk down to the Great Sphinx, located at the foot of the pyramids. This statue with a lion’s body and a pharaoh’s head dates back to the time of Chephren, though its full significance remains unclear.

After the pyramid visits, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel.
