Description
Day 1 begins with a morning pickup from your Cairo or Giza hotel. Visit the Pyramids of Giza: Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Explore the Valley Temple, where King Chephren was mummified, and see the Sphinx, the monumental statue with a lion’s body and Chephren’s head.
Lunch at a local restaurant is included. Afterward, visit the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, home to over 250,000 artifacts spanning 5,000 years. End the day with a one-hour visit to the Khan El Khalili Bazaar, known for brassware, copper, perfumes, leather, silver, gold, and antiques. Return to your hotel in Cairo.
On Day 2, travel to Alexandria by air-conditioned vehicle (about 130 miles). Visit the Roman Theatre with 800 marble seats and mosaic floors. Explore the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, featuring three levels of tombs and 2nd-century statues. Visit the Alexandria Library and see Qaytbay Citadel and El Mursi Abu Elabas mosque. Enjoy free time for a walk and a local lunch before returning to your hotel in Cairo.
