Description
Begin with a hotel pickup in Cairo or Giza, then travel approximately 13 hours to Siwa Oasis, stopping at the El Alamein Military Museum to see cannons, armored vehicles, and wartime artifacts.
On day one, arrive at Siwa Oasis and swim in its clear waters. Enjoy sunset views from Fatnas Island while sampling traditional Siwa tea. Overnight accommodations are at the Oasis Lodge.
Day two includes a guided tour of the Mountain of the Dead and the tombs of Si-Amun, followed by a visit to the Temple of the Oracle. Experience a 4x4 dune ride through the desert to Siwa salt lakes, then swim in Cleopatra's Spring and enjoy fresh fruit juice. After a mixed grill lunch, visit hot springs and cold lakes, and explore the Great Sand Sea with an optional sandboarding session. Overnight is at a Bedouin desert camp with a BBQ dinner.
On day three, visit Shali city, constructed from karshef (salt and clay), then free time at Siwa Old Souq for shopping before returning to your hotel in Cairo or Giza.
