Description
This 8-day itinerary covers Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, and Alexandria, combining historical sites, cultural tours, and a Nile cruise. It is ideal for travelers interested in ancient Egyptian history and sightseeing with comfortable accommodations.
Day 1: Arrival in Cairo
Upon arrival at Cairo airport, a representative will assist you with visa procedures (visa included for most nationalities). You will then be transferred by air-conditioned car to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Pyramids and Egyptian Museum
After breakfast, visit the Egyptian Museum, home to 5,000 years of Egyptian artifacts, including the Tutankhamen collection. Then explore the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos, the Sphinx, and the Valley Temples. A camel ride is included. In the evening, attend the Sound and Light show at the Pyramids area. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 3: Cairo to Nile Cruise
Breakfast is followed by an early transfer to the domestic airport for a flight to Aswan. Visit the High Dam and Philae Temple, then board the cruise for lunch. Sail to Kom Ombo for a temple visit dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haroeris. Continue to Edfu with afternoon tea and dinner on board, followed by a disco party. Overnight on the cruise.
Day 4: Edfu to Luxor
After breakfast on board, visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu, then sail through the lock to Luxor. Afternoon tea and dinner on board include a traditional Galabya party. Overnight in Luxor.
Day 5: Nile Cruise in Luxor
Breakfast on board precedes a visit to Luxor’s West Bank, including the Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut, and Colossi of Memnon. Return to the cruise for lunch and enjoy a free afternoon. Afternoon tea served on board.
Day 6: Luxor to Alexandria
Breakfast on board before disembarkation. Transfer to Luxor airport for a flight back to Cairo, then continue to Alexandria. Tour the Library of Alexandria (closed on public holidays) and visit the site of the Lighthouse and the Castle of Qaitbey. Visit the royal gardens and palaces of King Farouk, Abbo Elabbas Mosque, the memorial of the Unknown Soldier, and the statue of Alexander the Great. Lunch is included at a sea-view restaurant. Continue with visits to St. Mark's Church and a drive along the Corniche, including stops at Stanley Bridge and Alexandria’s old downtown. Overnight in Alexandria.
Day 7: Alexandria to Cairo
After breakfast, transfer back to Cairo. The day is free for personal activities. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 8: Departure from Cairo
Breakfast at the hotel. The representative will assist with your transfer to the airport for your departure.
