This two-day tour offers a comprehensive exploration of Cairo’s most significant historical and cultural sites, suitable for travelers interested in ancient Egyptian and Christian history.
Day 1: National Museum, Egyptian Museum, and Giza Pyramids
You will be picked up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza in an air-conditioned vehicle to visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Old Cairo. The museum exhibits 50,000 artifacts detailing Egypt's heritage and culture. Next, visit the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus, followed by the Great Sphinx from Chephren’s era and the Valley Temple associated with Chephren’s pyramid. Afterward, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before proceeding to the Egyptian Museum, which houses over 250,000 authentic artifacts and a rare collection spanning 5,000 years of Egyptian art. Return to your hotel after the tour.
Day 2: Coptic Cairo and Cave Church Tour
Your guide will collect you at 9:00 AM to visit Coptic Cairo, including the Church of Abu Serga (St. Sergius) and St. Barbara’s Church, known as the Hanging Church. Visit the Cave Church of St. Simon located in Moqattam Mountain, a complex of seven cave churches. The Monastery of St. Simon the Tanner features an amphitheater with a 20,000-seat capacity. This tour offers a distinct perspective on Cairo’s Christian heritage.
