This would have been a highlight in its day. Magnificent ole world hotel. But it's had its time. The customer service is very good. Attentive to guests requestes. The doorman, im not sure what they do though. The bell boys are very helpful. The food is good. Its fresh and plenty of it. Breakfast is plentiful and doesn't take shortcuts. Hot, cold and a freshly cooked omelette on the spot is a highlight. The showers leak all over the bathroom, which is unfortunate. We asked for extra towels and were provided them. Overall I'd book directly rather than going through a travel agent. It's much more cheaper, and you are actually in the heart of Cairo. 20mins to the Pyramids.
This beautiful and classy old hotel is wonderfully maintained. Very clean and comfortable with unlimited very hot water in the bathroom. The staff could not be nicer. The breakfast buffet is very diverse and offers omelettes and crepes made to order.
I got in at 1am. They didn’t have towels in my room, the AC wasn’t working, there were bugs in the room, the sink was broken. The shower head wasn’t working. Then construction started super early in the morning so I couldn’t get a good nights sleep. I managed to make the shower head workable. The kind housekeeper knocked at my door early in the morning, waking me up, then went back downstairs and called my room twice. Then she called and asked me to switch rooms. If you want a restful night of sleep, do not stay here. Found some red dots on me that weren’t there when i got in. Edit: Manager saw my review and asked me to edit. So I’ll provide an updated review: the next room was better because the AC & shower-head were working, but there were hairs on the floor and the lock chain on the door was broken. No towels in this room either. It also smelled like smoke was seeping into the room
We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights and were extremely satisfied. The location is perfect! All the staff were exceptionally helpful and polite, saeed hasan was the best! Our room was always clean, and the hotel food was fantastic. The receptionists were helping us with everything especially Omar! We would like to sincerely thank the entire staff for the wonderful days they gave us. I highly recommend it ❤️
