Start your half-day tour with a hotel pickup in Cairo or Giza by your tour guide, followed by a transfer to the Giza Pyramids complex. Begin your visit at the Great Pyramids of Giza — Cheops (Khufu), Chephren (Khafre), and Mykerinos (Menkaure). The Pyramid of Khafre (Chephren) is the middle of the three pyramids and the second tallest. It served as the tomb for the Fourth-Dynasty Pharaoh Khafre, who ruled around 2558–2532 BC. This pyramid has a base length of 215.5 meters (706 ft) and rises to 136.4 meters (448 ft) tall. Built from massive limestone blocks weighing over 2 tons each, it sits on bedrock 10 meters higher than Khufu’s pyramid, giving it an imposing appearance despite being slightly smaller. Its slope angle is steeper at 53°13' compared to Khufu’s 51°50'24'. Next, visit the Valley Temple, where priests mummified King Khafre. Here, you’ll get an up-close view of the Great Sphinx — the legendary guardian with the body of a lion and the head of King Khafre.
